SmartCarry®'s Missouri dealer

John Ross, author of Unintended Consequences and concealed carry instructor in Missouri, purchased a SmartCarry® concealed carry holster for the S&W model 329 that is (or was) his preferred primary carry gun. He soon found that with the SmartCarry®, he forgot his 329 was even there. John has become an authority on the S&W model 500 .50 caliber X frame handgun, and decided to see if SmartCarry® would be a feasible way to carry a 4" model 500, which weighs twice as much. If so, he planned to use this for demonstration purposes in his classroom, as he urges his students to carry the largest caliber they can shoot well, IF they can find a carry method that is convenient. John reports that he's worn the 500 for 16 hours a day, seven days a week since Thanksgiving without a problem. We feel that the model 500 is too large to safely carry in the large size holster, as the trigger guard isn't completely inside the firearm pocket, and do not recommend this practice. John doesn't mind this, as he draws his guns with his trigger finger on the frame. "In every class, someone complains there isn't any good way to conceal anything but a mousegun when wearing typical indoor clothing. I smile and draw the 500. Their eyes just bug out," John says.

Impressed with the comfort and functionality of a holster that will allow comfortable carry of a 4-pound gun for 16 hours at a time, John contacted SmartCarry® and is now an authorized dealer. John does not intend to sell via the Internet or mail order, only to the students in his classes and other local customers. So if you live in the St. Louis area and want expert concealed carry instruction (John's proficiency as an instructor was mentioned in the November/December issue of Concealed Carry Magazine), we suggest you contact Mr. Ross. His best selling book is available at AccuratePress.net.
