It all began with a Marine named Charlie.

Charles Parrott III founded SmartCarry after becoming frustrated with his otherwise great “possum pouch” style holster because at the end of those hot Florida days, his trusty 1911 ended up soaked with sweat. He noticed a few other flaws so he decided he’d fix em himself and that’s how we got SmartCarry, The Invisible Holster. He and his wife, Carolyn, hit the gun shows in south Florida and eventually made their way to Pinellas county where they settled and ran the business together for over 20 years.

I began working for Charlie In the early 2000s, trimming and packaging holsters in his garage after school. He and Carolyn treated me like family, he always made sure I had a glass of his homemade sweet tea and she made sure he paid me good. After high school I worked doing the manufacturing of the holsters until 2019 when I was fortunate enough to be offered an opportunity to continue the SmartCarry name. On Valentine’s Day 2019 I became the proud owner of SmartCarry, The Invisible Holster and made it my top priority to continue to make the highest quality product we could make, right here in America.
